Death Grips: Year Of The Snitch Vinyl LP
Should the opportunity arise, vomit me flies.Ā Year Of The SnitchĀ is the firstĀ Death GripsĀ LP since 2016'sĀ Bottomless Pit. In the time since, membersĀ Zach HillĀ andĀ Andy MorinĀ have stayed busy with theirĀ I.L.Y.'sĀ side project. ForĀ Year Of The Snitch,Ā MC RideĀ & co. worked withĀ DJ Swamp,Ā ToolĀ bassistĀ Justin ChancellorĀ and producerĀ Andrew Adamson... otherwiseĀ known as the director ofĀ ShrekĀ andĀ Shrek 2Ā (you can't make this shit up). Lead single "Paint" is a relatively (forĀ Death Grips) low-key, mellow groover that you might actually get away with playing in a club. But the ferocious "Black Paint," on the other hand, is deeply steeped in hardcore punk andĀ sludge metal (I never understood why people call them an 'experimental hip-hop' group). High-octane burners "Flies" and "Ha Ha Ha"Ā boastĀ the same energy the band exerted all the way back on "Guillotine"; it's impressive thatĀ Death GripsĀ have been doing their thing for this long and haven't tuckered out.Ā 13 tracks altogether on black vinyl with printed inner sleeve.
