Jim Sullivan's disappearance in 1975 remains a mystery, but the singer-songwriter's works, starting with Light In The Attic's introduction of his debut album, U.F.O., continue to see the light of day. LITA's latest Sullivan release is a lavish reissue of his 1972 self-titled sophomore effort, originally released on Hugh Hefner's short-lived Playboy imprint. It's a rare LP, and it showcases Sullivan taking a big stride into "country, folk rock, and swampy blues, mesmerically finger-picked, brass-bedecked, and with that uniqueness of phrasing—part crooner, part jazz singer—that makes Sullivan such a rare performer." Highlights include "Don't Let It Throw You," "Lonesome Picker," "Sunny Jim," and "Tom Cat."
