Lee Perry ended his run on the Trojan imprint with his 1973 album, Double Seven.Ā HereĀ The Upsetter lays down heavyĀ vibrationsĀ with help from U-Roy, I-Roy, and David Isaacs on vocalĀ dutiesĀ fusing "the soul, funk, reggae and dub elements that were constant in Perry's work during this phase."Ā Far-out sonic explorationĀ present and accounted for: peep the frying sounds on the opener "Kentucky Skank," the dubbed out Moog blips on "Double Six,"Ā the bugged out reggae remake of "Love And Happiness," or Perry himself literally roaring on "Jungle Lion." Perry would go on to establish his legendary Black Ark studio after this project. 14 tracks in all, officially reissued by Superior ViaductĀ sub-label Antarctica Starts Here.Ā
